P.J. Mattiacci
President of Board Trustees

Creative Access (CA) is the region's only advocacy, arts-service and presenting organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of a diverse group of Deaf and hard of hearing (D/HOH) individuals, 'mixed' Deaf/hearing families, and the general public by insuring visibility, accessibility, opportunity and inclusion of persons with hearing loss in the arts and cultural life of the Greater Philadelphia area, and beyond.

CA's programs and services reverse the historic picture of invisibility and social isolation of its minority constituency by using the realm of the arts for social change, bringing D/HOH people of all ages out of the shadows and into the mainstream, as audience and performer, for the benefit of all. Through significantly increasing visibility in the highways and byways of our cultural arenas, CA enhances knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the Deaf culture and American Sign Language, coining the phrase, "Accessibility Beyond the Ramp."

Creative Access strives to create and provide myriad opportunities for professional and aspiring visual artists and performance artists who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, whose works are expressed through the beauty of American Sign Language as an art form.
